Love Anime and Robotics? Then, You Must Watch Frame Arms Girl!!!

Hey, readers. I'm back. Sorry for that lousy post previously. This time, it will be a better post. It will be a real robotics experience. Well, although it might not be as good as the Gundam series, plus this anime is more towards promoting a new toy series, I say that overall that this anime is REALLY WELL DONE and WELL WRITTEN as I had watched it and can guarantee you that.

Yes, we are talking about one of the latest anime that just ended this week, Frame Arms Girl. I promise you that this will be nice (definitely!) and short (maybe?). Well, shall we start with this?

FA Girls!!!

The anime, Frame Arms Girl or in Japanese, フレームアームズ・ガール is literally an anime to promote the new, original Frame Arms line by Kotobukiya. Well, it worked. I really want to have one of those. Anyway, it also has a manga series, which is named Frame Arms Girl: Lab Days.

BTW, this is the manga cover. For the 1st volume, of course.

Anyway, talking about the plastic model from the new Frame Arms Girl line. This line features robots from that line portrayed as anthropomorphic girls, known as F.A. Girls for short, who can be equipped with various armour and weapon parts, including those from the Frame Arms and M.S.G weapon series. The line was designed by Humikane Shimada, based on Takayuki Yanase original mech designs. Yes, people, I got into the details and the technicality. Anyways, you can go and find out yourself. Anyway, let's move on.

Plot

Ao's mysterious package

OK, let's start the plot. The anime starts by following a girl named Gennai Ao who got a mysterious package from Factory Advance. Well, at first, Ao thought that it is some weird present from her father. Later, she found out that it is from Factory Advance and it contains a prototype F.A. Girl known as Gourai and is tasked with helping her gather data on both battle and emotions.

A brief real-life fight with Stylet...

The two soon encounter more F.A. Girls, who Gourai battles against while also having various adventures alongside. Well, at first Gourai is kinda robotic and then she starts to experience many things and win many battles (and then later to win once, draw once and lose once to Hresvelgr, another FA Girl). There are a lot of heartwarming moments and intense moments. The most intense of ALL is the FINAL battle with Hresvelgr's nanomachine suddenly berserks and changes her personality completely. Gourai defeated Hresvelgr (Well, this name is quite weird, right?) with the help of others, which they lend Gourai their weapons as they can't enter the field.

Well, Hresvelgr joins Ao's 'harem' of FA Girls. Later, all of the FA Girls except for Gourai, depart into their new adventures on their own. BTW, the FA Girls who join Ao's 'harem' are Gourai (of course), Stylet, Baselard, Materia Sisters (There are two of them technically, so yeah, twins), Architect (Seriously, that is her name), Jinrai and Hresvelgr (I've just mentioned it). Well, as to how they join the harem...I will leave it to you to watch it. It's time for me to do the rating.

Story (Rating: 10/10)

The story is filled with a good amount of light-hearted moments, weird moments, emotional moments, intense moments and EVEN cliffhangers!! It a well-written story and one of the most important that I look forward to anime nowadays is character development is in this anime. Well, I will talk about this in the character part BUT hey, it's important to me. Anyway, one of my favourite parts is the FA Girls temporarily 'turned' into real girls. Well, it is a dream though.

The 'real-life' FA Girls...There are more. You will need to get it yourself...Hehe...

Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)

The look of the FA girl is nice. Well, on the way, the animation did have minor changes, which I would say that the animation is exactly consistent. BUT, well, it gets better anyway. No complaints. Just saying. Oh yeah, I really love the battle scene. It's amazing. The CGI in the battle scene and in some non-battle scenes are really good too. They are well-handled, in my opinion.

Sound and Music (Rating: 8/10)

Well, done. Basically, that is it. The opening is powerful and the ending is cute. Although both songs might not be one of my top Anisong, they are legitimately a real contender to my list. This is all I would say about it. As for the BGM, as usual, well done, it is done well to contribute to the story's ups and downs. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh, I forgot! There were a few insert songs in this show and they are pretty good. Listen to it yourself.

Characters (Rating: 10/10)

The characters? Lots of fun. You have Stylet's tsundere, Base's cute and energetic, Materia sisters' pervert intent, Architect's erratic but somehow can get anything in the world done, Jinrai's ninja antics and obsession towards the Sengoku period and Hresvelgr's drive to battle and energetic antics. They are a bunch of funny interactions between them. I laughed so hard and loud sometimes. Oh yeah, character development? I really the change of Gourai and the other also. They become more and more...human. Gourai got to understand emotion and everybody (except Gourai) decided to go on a NEW adventure. Wow...it is a lot to take in.

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

I enjoy EVERY moment in the anime. The emotional moment, the light-hearted moment, the weird moments, intense moment...I really enjoy EVERY PART of it. I laughed, I cringe...Wow, I really liked it. This is really unexpected from an anime that is supposed to promote the merchandise. This anime is not JUST a promotional material, it is real, seriously made and REAL merchandise on its own.

It is sad to end it here...but hey, I decided to merge my usual anime review and the 'technical review'. I'm just experimenting it here, hopefully, it works out. BUT seriously, the anime was GOOD. Oh yeah, there is also a hint of a second season. I don't mind watching another season of it.
