Introduction
|
Anime... |
The anime Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san (in Japanese, となりの吸血鬼さん), or in English, Ms Vampire who Lives in my Neighbourhood is adapted from a Japanese four-panel manga series of the same name. The manga is written and drawn by Amatou and has been serialized since August 2014 in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Comic Cune. The Comic Cune magazine was originally a magazine supplement in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive until August 2015. The manga series has been collected in five tankōbon volumes. The anime adaptation is done by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ, which was aired between October and December 2018.

Plot
|
Their first meeting... |
The story starts with a cute girl named Amano Akari who found herself lost in the forest in the night while trying to find the 'haunted' house. And then, the vampire who actually lives in the 'haunted' house, Sophie Twilight found her in the forest. She picks Akari up and proceeds to fly her out of the forest and into her home. Through weird circumstances, Akari ends living with Sophie under the same roof.
|
Flying vampire |
With Akari living together with Sophie, Akari's new life of living together with a cute loli vampire begins! There is not much of a story as the anime is a slice of life and an adaption of a four-panel manga. BUT, but, BUT!!! But...the anime has a lot of laugh points and also weird things like the vampire don't actually suck blood but actually buys blood via mail.
|
The girls... |
The modern-day vampire comedy centres on high school girl Amano, who was saved from a strange incident by a vampire girl named Sophie Twilight and has been interested in her ever since. Akari arrives at her house uninvited and the two start to live together. Although a vampire, Sophie never attacks humans, but purchases blood and anime goods via mail and lives a modern life.
|
OK...that is... |
The anime has nothing much to offer in terms of a continuous story but it offers different cute and funny short stories. Well, that is what I am into these days!!! Life is not easy, people. It is nice to have some material that I can just enjoy and laugh at. For me, the anime is a good watch. It is quite good but not as comparable to GochuUsa and KinMoza. Well, it's up to you on whether you will watch it. I watch it because of two screenshots. CUTE GIRLS!!!! And then, I was like, "Let's go and watch it!". It is not the first time that I watch a certain anime because of cute girls.

Wait, what?! |
Anime Rating
Story (Rating: 8/10)
There is not much of a story other than the story surrounding the theme of a human living with a vampire. Well, the comedic nature of the story really cracks me up every time. The flow and pacing of the story are just nice. The story is not complicated to understand. Wait...why...never mind. BTW, the comedic nature of the story (and also the cute girls) is why I watch this show.
|
The girls together...and Akari is obviously...being weird there. |
Art and Animation (Rating: 7/10)
The characters look really cute and the animation is well-done. Nothing much to complain there. The characters and the animation are overall well-drawn and well-animated.
|
Cute!!! |
Sound and Music (Rating: 7/10)
The opening theme song is cute!!! And also, the ending song is quite cute too! The BGMs are well-placed and well-made. Yeah, that all. The two songs are not really my cup of tea and just kind of OK.

Cute girl! |

Characters (Rating: 10/10)
One word to describe...CUTE!!!!! The girls are cute and their interaction between each other is cute too! By the way, the development of character did happen and change over time BUT the interactions between the different characters didn't change. BTW, the interactions between the different characters are pretty funny and cute. Plus, the characters are really cute!
