Hi! Welcome! Sorry to all my loyal readers (do they even exist?), I've been on a hiatus on my anime reviewing as I need to focus on my final exam. Yeah, I'm still studying at university. BTW, I had finished the final episode of the anime that I gonna review on this post. Yeah, I had watched that episode half-way through before I cut off to study. Should've finished watching it earlier. Well, let's do this. Let the story of the journey of the hero BEGIN!!!

The anime is called...Tales of Zestiria the X!
You will know this anime is the combination of the Tales of Zestria and Tales of Berseria if you actually watched the anime and knew a bit about the tales series game. BTW, I heard that they actually wanted to make the Tales of Berseria, instead of what is it now. So well, just to 'honour' that name, I had this name as the tag of this post. Well, this will a bit more long-winded but let's start with a bit of the background story of our anime here. OK?

Before this anime launched, Ufotable animated a film titled Tales of Zestiria: Dawn of the Shepherd, which was produced to promote the game, which was distributed by Bandai Namco Games. What game you asked? It is the Tales series game, which is the series that comprise many other games within, such as Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Symphonia. It was also to celebrate the 20th-anniversary of the game series that I'm talking about right now. It (the creation of the anime film) was opposed by the company and was originally planning to adapt the series, Tales of Berseria into an anime. Yes, I had mentioned that they wanted to make the Tales of Berseria.

Putting the long backstory aside, let's start with the storytelling. Shall we? OK?
Storytelling time
Let's start! With our story, of course! The story starts with our main character, Sorey who is a human youth who grew up among the seraphim, who are spiritual beings that are not visible to humans. He has a book that he read from a young age. THIS book is regarded and dismissed by many as folklore; it is 'The Records of the Seraphic Remains'. He believes in his dreams of unravelling the ancient mysteries to make the world a place where people and seraphim can live together at peace. Well, it is because the book tells a story from a long time ago in which includes that every human being was able to see the seraphim and live together peacefully with them.

Well, our dear MC LOVES to explore the ancient buildings in his hometown, Elysium, together with another seraph, Mikleo. And then one day, they found a 'special' place where his gramps, who is another seraph, forbids them to enter and explore the place. Cut the long story short, they enter it anyways and found the unconscious Alicia, a human(of course). They brought her into the village where he and the seraphim lived together since young. She left the village after staying there for a while as the seraphim do not welcome humans into the village. He, together with Mikleo, visits the human capital for the very first time after he and the seraphim had an encounter with a hellion in their territory after Alicia's departure.

In the city, he becomes embroiled in an incident during the Sacred Blade Festival in Ladylake. He pulls out a holy sword that is embedded in a rock and ends up becoming a Shepherd, the one who would cast away calamity from the world. He soon realises that his mission is SUPER, SUPER IMPORTANT. His dreams of the coexistence between mankind and the seraphim have become more intense, like yeah, REALLY INTENSE. So, our dear MC or right now, our dear hero, Sorey the Shepherd embarks on an amazing journey with his companions. Well, he started with Mikleo and the seraph of Ladylake, Lailah. BTW, Lailah is the seraph that Sorey and Mikleo found sitting beside the sword. Oh, want more details?......WATCH IT YOURSELF!!! IT'S REALLY AMAZING TO WATCH!!!!

Yeah, seriously watch it!!! It is a really good anime to watch. Well, I needed someone to convince me to watch. NOT that it is not good, BUT I tend to watch anime that people won't usually watch such as Etotama, 12-sai, and Charlotte. Plus, I had a TON of anime to watch. I can't be watching EVERY single one of them so choose based on how I feel and on my time constraint. BTW, there is another season upcoming next year. Watching this show is really a journey to see the hero improves and grow as a person. And yeah, I've forgotten to tell you that this anime is actually a combination of Tales of Zestria and Tales of Berseria. I DID MENTION? OK. Fine but it is still good despite being the combination of two stories. Don't worry, the two stories so happened to be in the same universe but a different setting.

Oh yeah, BTW, the movie is kinda like the first episode(not the prologue, episode 0) but from our MC's angle and a little bit different in terms of storyline. Still, a fine movie to watch, I recommend it! Oh yeah, another thing. Sorry, I didn't organise properly this post but I NEED to mention this. This anime starts with the prologue, which well, episode ZERO. So, don't tell me that I tell you. OK, after a LONG story, it is time for some usual 'service' for ALL!!!! Enjoy!!!!
