Here and There, Trying to Finding for a Joke.

Here! NO, it's THERE! OK, here is my terrible joke. Is that even a joke? Never mind. Hi, people! BTW, I'm still stuck at finding a job. It's getting more of a pain to find a job and being stuck at home and demoralising at the same time.

Incoming!

Anyway, putting that aside, let's start! Start my talk on Acchi Kocchi!!!! Anyway, I will 'merge' Acchi Kocchi OVA with the anime review for the main story since it's just one episode.

WARNING:-

SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven't watched it and plan to watch it without anyone being the spoiler, just DON'T CONTINUE READING!!! Simple as it is, isn't it?

P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.

Introduction

The anime...

Let's introduce the anime that we are talking about today...Acchi Kocchi!!! The name is written in Japanese (duh!): あっちこっち. As for the English translation, it is translated as Place to Place, which is close but exactly what it says. Anyway, the anime is adapted from a Japanese four-panel manga series by Ishiki. Like most (if not all) manga, it began with the serialisation of the manga in magazines. They are all kinds of magazines that do this. For this case, it is done by Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara magazine from 2006. Oh, the anime adaptation, you asked? It is done by AIC aired on TBS between April and June 2012.

Plot

Tsumiki...the female MC of this show

OK! Well, since this is an anime adapted from a four-panel manga, there is not much of a singular story pattern to say. This anime mainly surrounds the awkward quasi-romance between Miniwa Tsumiki and Otonashi Io. As describe in Wikipedia, they are more than friends but less than lovers. So...yeah, awkward!

Io and Tsumiki...

Sorry, people. There are even fewer things to say for Acchi Kocchi than all of the anime that I had mentioned in this blog before (eg. GochuUsa). Of course, there are notable things in the anime. For example, the game of kicking the can...a lot of funny thing happened there. Oh, and also the snowball fight, the cheaters are too OP but one of the characters is even more OP even without the 'cheat code'.

Wow...Mayoi...RIP

Anyway, the story has not much of any direction to say the least. No clear direction for any sort of ending. BUT, it's the funny daily life is what I like about this anime. This kind of life is hard to get in a world where speed and accuracy and also numbers take precedent. It's very tiring to live in this world without laughter. For me, the joke in the anime don't need to make sense, just need to weird and funny. Anyway, let's move on! Yeah!!!

Nose bleed! The running gag in this anime...

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 8/10)

There is not much any structure for a story even though the story runs around a simple theme. Of course, there are moments that look like it has moved away from the theme but it actually circles around the theme subtly. Anyway, the story is quite funny. I enjoyed it although it looks like a bunch of different short stories patched up together. Anyway, the animator has done a good job to give us a proper sense of time flow in the anime.

Io takeout?!

Art and Animation (Rating: 7/10)

The arts and animation are quite good. The comical effect on the 'superpower' of Tsumiki and in some scene within the anime is really funny. Well done. Well done.

Tsumiki and the 'super' brush...

Sound and Music (Rating: 6/10)

Cute OP and ED songs, together with a decent BGM, sounds like something that I will give a full mark, right? Sorry, nope. They are cute but I don't rate them highly. So...there you go.

The OP scene...don't mind the subtitle...

Characters (Rating: 9/10)

Although there is a lack of any character development, the anime has a lot of cute characters and funny interaction. Well, I don't have any particular character that I like in this anime but I like the comical interaction between the characters.

Bear costume and paper bag mask combo...scary...

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

I enjoyed it! The funny moments make me laugh quite a lot. A good anime to lighten up your day. I might rewatch certain episodes from time to time. Well, it's not like I had rewatched any anime from start to the end. Maybe I will do that when I have a much lesser volume on my backlog.

Poor Mayoi...

Overall Rating: 8 (7.5)/10

Conclusion

By reaching the end of this post, I will like to thank you. I'm kinda running out of things to say of Acchi Kocchi since there are very few stories to talk about as it is mostly different small story arc after another. Anyway, this will be the end of the post. Hope you enjoy it and hope to see you once again. Goodbye, and God bless you!

A super nose bleeding spree to end this post...
