God's memo pad...is it really god's memo pad or it's just a loli's memo pad?

After a series of me "settling my old scores", I will start to write about some of the anime that I had watched. And also, maybe a few other anime that I have watched and had mentioned on this blog but no reviews on it. Well, of course, there were some that I did not finish watching but mostly I have finished watching them.

CUTE LOLI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, this time is about an anime that I had not mentioned before. I watched it with one of my online friend using Rabb.it. Sadly, the site is dead. RIP. Anyway, that anime is Kamisama no Memocho. It's an interesting anime to watch. OK, let's go!

WARNING:-

SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven't watched it and plan to watch it without anyone being the spoiler, please DON'T CONTINUE READING!!!

P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.

Introduction

The anime...

The anime, Kamisama no Memocho is an adaptation of a Japanese light novel series written by Hikaru Sugii, with illustrations by Mel Kishida. The English name for it is Heaven's Memo Pad, which is pretty appropriate in terms of getting the meaning of the name. Anyway, the light novel is published between January 2007 and September 2014 under the Dengeki Bunko imprint. There is also there is a manga adaptation illustrated by Tiv. The manga was serialized between the August 2010 and September 2012 issues of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh magazine. As for the anime, it was aired between July and September 2011. Anyway, let's move on.

The LN...Lazy to show manga cover here. You can find it yourself.

Plot

A normal life...

The story starts with a high-school student who keeps himself uninvolved in school life to the point of not knowing most of his classmates' names. Sounds like someone I know...Anyway, this high school student is our main protagonist, Narumi Fujishima. Somehow, he got caught up with a private investigation of a certain group, the NEET agency. Because of that and other weird circumstances, he joined his school's "Gardening Committee" and the NEET agency led by Ayaka Shinozaki (or mostly called as Alice).

Oh, a loli cute girl!

This loli girl is a real genius. She is literally the brain for the agency. She is a resourceful hacker and an astounding detective. And also, she is childish, anti-social extreme shut-in and RARELY leaves her room, which is full of computer monitors and stuffed animals. Cute, right? I do agree that this loli girl is cute. SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't she cute?

There is nothing much I can describe here as the series is basically a series of incident waiting to solve. It is like GOSICK but less dark and no theme of war. Anyway, throughout the series, Narumi and the members of NEET, resolve crimes, including murders, using their limited resources and Alice's genius intellect. Alice is cute...SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep...that loli girl on the bed facing the screens is Alice

Oh, you are asking why the anime is Kamisama no Memochou (or in English, Heaven's Memo Pad). This has to do with the reason why Alice decided to be a NEET detective and form the NEET agency, which includes the world's MANY problems. I won't mention the whole reasoning here as it takes time to understand even if I do explain it here. Anyway, let's move on.

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 8/10)

The story is pretty repetitive in terms of story pattern, which is the pattern of an incident happening (or sometimes meeting of a certain character who disrupt the MC daily life) and resolving the incident. BUT, every incident is unique and interesting. None of them is the exact same thing. This kind of plot is decent if executed well, which is the case here. The story has a good flow and pacing. It is also pretty easy to understand in spite of the multiple incidents being solved piece-by-piece, which is usually the case for detective-like anime. Anyway, it is good storytelling. There is something that Alice mentions, which is about what she does and the reasoning behind why she does it. The anime ends with the MC finally understanding what she meant. Good stuff to enjoy.

O.O...an incident

Art and Animation (Rating: 6/10)

The animation is pretty decent and generic, typical animation style of JC Staff. Nothing very special but there are some good arts to behold. Moreover, there is a CUTE, CUTE, CUTE Alice to behold!!!!

Beautiful...but wait...WHAT?!

Sound and Music (Rating: 6/10)

The OP and ED songs are pretty good. I didn't really like it, to be honest. Anyway, they are well-made and well-done, including the BGM of the anime.

Cute teddy bear...from the OP sequence BTW

Characters (Rating: 8/10)

As for characters, I feel that only Alice and the Thai girl, Miu are only a few cute characters. The rest are pretty normal. Anyway, the character development is pretty well-distributed and still has the focus of the character development on the main character. Also, the MC finally understands and fully comprehend why Alice does what she does throughout the series because the final incident of the anime is deeply related to someone he cares for deeply. As for the relatability, there are a few of them when we look into many reasons and backstory behind the different incidents.

More cuteness of Alice!!!!!!

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

There are good parts in the anime that I enjoyed but to be honest, this anime is not the best anime of a similar nature that I have watched. I also enjoyed watching it with one of my net friends on Rabb.it. I would watch it again when I have time.

Miu is the girl on the right. Isn't she cute?

Overall Rating: 7.6 (7)/10

Conclusion

Well, that's the end of this post. The anime is pretty good, to be honest. When I'm writing this post, I get to have a dive into the story once again and found a few things that I didn't have the opportunity and time to find when I was watching. Anyway, I'm sorry for not posting more often but I hope to do more this month. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy reading it and browse through this blog once again. Goodbye, and God bless you!
