Speaking of the time when it all started...

Hi, people. How are you? And also, how was my previous blog post on the opening song of Black Bullet? Enjoy it? If you do, nice! Either way, thank you for your patronage. Anyway, back to the topic...

A toast to all of you!

This time, I'm just gonna chill out and talk about some of the anime merch that bought in 2022. 2022, the year after the fucking COVID lockdown. Those lockdowns were something that I used to like but right now, have turned to hate them. It really twisted and ruined me mentally. I dun wanna talk about it anymore so let's go and chill out together. No anime this time? Nah, just chill out with me while listening(?) to me talking about my story.

Ah. This photo quality is crap. Forgive me.

This time, I will use the old way of writing blog posts since it's just me chilling out and talking about the figures and other anime merch I bought. This whole thing started back in mid-2022 when I resigned from another company. After I resigned from my former employer, I went to Mid Valley to chill out and cool down a bit because I wasn't in a good mood after that resignation.

A random picture of Pavilion Bukit Jalil from the internet

After I had my lunch and chilled out there, I decided to go to Pavilion Bukit Jalil after having a brief chat in my DM with a friend on Discord. It was my first time going to Pavilion Bukit Jalil, so it piqued my interest when I saw a Japanese bookstore called Tsutaya Books. This is where I found these two art books, Café de Ètoile by Koi and Next Game by Tokuno Shotaro.

Gochuumon art book

The art book Café de Ètoile consists of only Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka art. It has 120 pages! Oh yeah!!! Well, according to the book's index, it consists of illustrations (of course) from page 2 to page 115, an illustration index in the next 2 pages (that's the first time I've seen such a thing), afterword and colophon for the final 3 pages. Oh, you ask me how much? In Japanese Yen, it's 2000 JPY with taxes. As for me, I bought it in Malaysia, it was RM 120.33. Not cheap though, if you ask me.

Ah, those days...New Game

As for the Next Game art book, it is WAY THICKER than Café de Ètoile and more expensive. It cost me RM 180.49, and in JPY, it's 3000 JPY with tax. Anyway, it has a whopping 176 pages!!! It mostly consists of only New Game art. There are a few non-New Game arts in there, but those are in its final two segments. The book is divided into 4 segments: Carat, Comics, Tribute and Special. What is Carat? I dunno but it consists of only New Game arts. As for comics, there are a bit in there (like a page or two), but it's still mostly New Game arts. Oh, there are comic covers for New Game in there. Anyway, it's a pretty good art book. I liked them and bought them.

This book...

Anyway, I bought this book. This book is in Mandarin and it's for learning Japanese. Well, hardly have any time to read. I guess buying books that I'm interested in is my old habit. I don't care, though. I still bought it with those two art books. Anyway, I have a few things that I took pictures of at that moment.

Mirror on the ceiling?

Vegan baking?! Haiya

Café in a bookstore?

Chilling out time...

The high shelf in Tsutaya

Nice, ain't it? Anyway, I found a new job not too long after my resignation. It's really great news. After that, at the end of that same year, I went to KLCC to see friends from Discord. I did not manage to go to Comic Fiesta because the tickets were sold out really early that year. I got to meet them but again, it was seriously not an ideal situation. Because of this, I made an arrangement with another Discord friend to hang out in KL. Anyway, there was a serious crowd when I went there. It wasn't like anything that I had seen before.

Lining up until Suria KL...oh wait, Nilou cosplay!!!

Just have to take another pic of that Nilou cosplayer

A few days after the end of Comic Fiesta and that arrangement with my friend, I went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for the Nijigen Expo, which happened about a week after Comic Fiesta ended. I bought some merch there and one figure. It's a figure of Chino from Gochuumon. Well, it opened a whole new rabbit hole for me. There are a few merch that I bought too. Most of them are Genshin. Man, in those days, Genshin was still really popular before a whole series of wrong moves from the game devs. *sigh*...I'm not going to elaborate further. Go find someone else to talk about it.

Nilou pillow!!!

Keychains of Ayaka, Nahida and Nilou

Nice merch!

I really like this Ayaka-Ayato acrylic stand

Nahida and Ayaka mousepad!

Ayaka totebag. I like it. xD

Another purchase round. xD

Before we move on, I would like to show you my Chino figure. It was below 100 ringgit if I remember correctly. It was the first time understanding why people love to buy figures. It was really satisfying. I like it so t

First time opening her from the box

Showing her outside of the box

Pantsu shot, quality check 1

Pantsu shot, quality check 2. Looks ok to me.

As for the details of that Nijigen Expo, Imma be real. There wasn't much other than I went for two days in a roll for some merch since I was free at that point. There are numerous anime merch and some sort of lucky box merch. Well, well, that's all I remember and that's all I could describe. There is no crowd like Comic Festa, like EVER. I dunno why they called themselves the largest anime event in Malaysia. sigh...whatever, I dun care. I'm not here to promote Nijigen nor am I being sponsored to make this blog post. I just don't care. I just wanna share what I have in mind. Imma just show you what I took and call it a day. Enjoy yourself! Goodbye, and God bless you!
