Introduction

Season 3!!!

This series...well, I have talked about it multiple time on this blog. I talked about season 1 and 2 AND oh, man, I watched it only for the cute girls and the ears and tails that come out when they fly and use magic. Kyaaa!!!! Also, I did mention the OVA and the movie that came out after the two seasons of the anime. Oh, man, it was when we know of the upcoming Luminous Witches and the THIRD SEASON of the anime. OH YEAH!!!

Ah...remember season 1?

Anyway, this post will be about the third season of Strike Witches, which is named Strike Witches: Road to Berlin!, which is a continuation of the movie. It was aired on Oct 8, 2020, and end on Dec 24, 2020. It was good stuff and...AHEM! The studio responsible for this project is David Production. Man, they change anime studio production team like changing clothes. Anyway, let's not put that in mind and let us move to the next segment, shall we?

The cute girls are back! So...LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!

Plot

This is Altia? CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The story starts with Yoshika studying medicine in Lausanne when Sakamoto Mio, who has lost her magic came to visit her. Well, it's actually a continuation of the movie where Yoshika is coming to Europe to study and is on the way to school. It's nice to see Yoshika all good and well. Also, it's great to get to see a new and cute girl, Altia. KYAAAA~! Ahem! Sorry, time to get back to the story plot

Wow...Yoshika...

That moment...

Altia later found out that Yoshika was once part of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing (well, actually, to be honest, twice) when she uses her magic to defend her against a bear that had a toothache. It was pretty nice to watch but then...

Iceberg Neuroi?!

...then...the NEUROI attack again!!! Yeah, these asses attack humans again. Yoshika went and help out the distressed battleship fleet before the arrival of the 501st Joint Fighter. Although they successfully saved Altia's father who was in one of the battleships, it successfully badly destroyed the important port of Antwerp that humans planned to use as a supply port to fight against the Neuroi. Yes, it's an actual place in real life. It's an actual city in Belgium. Also, it actually has a port, for real!

The call to arms! Let's go!!!

Anyway, Miyafuji Yoshika, yes, the MC, accepted the call to arms and joined the 501st Joint Fighter Wing to continue the assault on the Neuroi once again. While marching in on Berlin, Yoshika and the rest of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing girls fight Neuroi and giving the fans and viewers good fanservice. xD...AHEM! Of course, we need to further elaborate on the final battle in Berlin. Next paragraph!

Yoshika...NOOOOOOO!!!!!

Yoshika on the battlefield as a medic. Why somehow I'm reminded of Arknights?

There was a HUGE setback right before the final battle in Berlin, which is Yoshika losing all of her magic to save the base from destruction. This leaves her only with one choice if she wants to join the battle: Be a frontline medic. Well, you can blame the new girl that was introduced in the movie previously: Shizuka. For what, you ask? For her recklessness. It got her in HUGE trouble and forcing Yoshika to use her hard-to-accumulate magic power to defend the base as the Neuroi tries to ramp itself to the base.

Uh oh...oof!

Oh...deja vu again?

Anyway, the blame game aside, the war on Neuroi in Berlin progress decently well until the Neuroi opens a dome cutting off the team where Yoshika's in with her 501 teammates. Oof...from then, everything went south although Team 501 tried to break through Neuroi's defence through Berlin's underground network. Things went so bad that Shizuka breaks through the dome to save Yoshika from the Neuroi's barrage. From then, suddenly Yoshika's magic is back after Shizuka got herself a terrible wound saving Yoshika. Wait a minute...why does this feel like deja vu? Wow...

Oh yeah, the team is back online! xD

So yeah, with Yoshika's magic return, the tide of battle suddenly went against the Neuroi. The Neuroi are eventually defeated. Berlin is then freed from Neuroi's control. YEAH!!! BUT, until now, the identity of the Neuroi remains an unsolved mystery. As they took back Berlin, the girls will continue to take back territories that are still under Neuroi influence. Will there be a continuation of Strike Witches or Brave Witches or both? I don't know but I do know that Luminous Witches are upcoming this year. With that, let us move to the next segment.

Finally...FINALLY, we freed Berlin!!!!!!!!!

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 10/10)

Story? Still, pretty much the same but this time, no more disbanding of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and having a 501st Joint Fighter Wing without Mio. Also, there is a different circumstance on why is she joining back in combat and why is she even there. I'm not gonna further illustrate that. The story is pretty simple to follow and have fresh elements that they introduced like Yoshika's magic problem. It came as a surprise to me, to be honest. Anyway, the team has done a good job in keeping the fans and viewers engaged.

Yoshika...Yoshika...YOSHIKA!!!!!

Art and Animation (Rating: 10/10)

Well, the animation did pretty well overall. There is nothing much to complain about. It's been pretty consistent. Fighting animation? Pretty well made. Of course, as per usual, it's got a lot of "interesting" camera shots and angles. Good stuff. Also, the characters are really cute too! Duh! If the girls are not cute, I'm not gonna even watch the 1st season, what more this season! OK, I'm just biased, alright? sigh...next!!!!

Looks like Yoshika is back online now.

Sound and Music (Rating: 8/10)

Nothing much to say about BGM. Well played! As for theme songs, they are pretty good but I'm not that into them as the opening theme song of season 1.

Ooh...what a cloud...

Characters (Rating: 10/10)

10 out of 10 for cute girls! And also, for character growth for Yoshika and other members in the 501st Joint Fighter (or I call it, Team 501). Ya, ya...I'm biased. NEXT!!!

CUTE!!!!! I want it too! Ahhh...

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

Oh, do I enjoy this season of Strike Witches? Well...of course, yes! DUH!!!!! What more can I say?

This...Mina and Sanya...

AH. Eila is jealous!!!! xD

Overall Rating: 9.6 (9.5)/10

Conclusion

Well, that's the end of the post. Ah, it's very slow? Yeah, I've been running low on motivation in recent months. I seriously need to schedule myself to do this and motivate myself to do more. Oh, some parts were too short? Well, I was a bit lazy (sorry about that) and there is nothing much to explain for this series at this point. It's pretty very similar to the previous ones. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy reading and browsing this blog. Goodbye, and God bless you!

Chilling out...
