Hello, people!!! Another anime review before my trip to China, which makes me unable to post anything since Blogger is blocked in China and I won't have any time to write any post while I'm in China EVEN if it's not blocked.

Anyway, Battle Girl High School (バトルガール ハイスクール Batorugāru Haisukūru) is a Japanese social network game (and it's also a school action role-playing game) released by COLOPL. Well, they decided to celebrate the first anniversary of the game with an anime adaptation. I didn't know that they did not reveal it to be a television series at first. The anime has another name (other than the original name), it's Battle Girl Project. The anime was aired in Japan from July 2 to September 17, 2017.

Plot

始めましょう！このストーリの切っ掛けは、行き成り、みきの夢にいる。この夢には、みきが一株木に見上げます。行き成り、木の色変わっ手、みきの名前を読んでいる。夢から起きたら、みきが教室にいる。授業もう始まるし、まだ寝てる？！まーまー、みき…夜更かしちゃ、駄目でしょう？授業がある出し…もう！Hehe...I'm quite good at this, isn't? Well, sorry, you will need to translate that yourselves if you don't know Japanese.

Miki's dream

Anyway, back to telling the plot in English. Well, it looks like I'm getting a bit too much into character there but anyway...Miki's full name is Hoshitsuki Miki. She is one of the Hoshimoris who possessed special powers to fight off the Irous. Why? I will explain.

The girls fighting Irous

Miki's world is set in the year 2045 where the world has been contaminated by Irous, the mysterious invaders who suddenly appeared. They at first lost the whole world to those invaders, and humans find themselves restricted and contained. With the help of our brave Hoshimoris (oh yeah, all of them are girls funnily enough) and the Holy Tree, they managed to take back Earth. From that day onwards, there is an academy, Shinjugammine Girls Academy, schooled the Hoshimoris (BTW, they literally mean Star Guardians). The Hoshimoris become destined to fight off the Irous, to undergo training in this academy, take back the contaminated Earth and fend off the invaders.

Backstory time!

Back to the story, there is a lot of light-hearted moments between the different battles against the Irous. Well, one day, a girl named Misaki appeared and changed their lives forever. Misaki is a mysterious girl who has no intention to befriend fellow Hoshimoris. After smoothing out some rough edges and getting her to open up, she started to befriend them. Suddenly, the girls are faced with a new threat, which they found out to the corrupted Hoshimoris from another dimension. With that, they also found out that Misaki is from another dimension brought by the Holy Tree. How did the Holy Tree bring her here? Well, she and Miki (from the same dimension with Misaki) somehow 'called' the Holy Tree from the dimension that we are 'in' from the dimension between worlds after failing the defeat the corrupted Holy Tree from their dimension.

Misaki's backstory

Well, cut the long story short, the corrupted Holy Tree enters into this dimension. The Hoshimoris, together with Misaki defeated the corrupted Holy Tree and frees the corrupted Hoshimoris and the Holy Tree from its corruption. The other dimension has a slightly different story to the invaders, the Irous. Anyway, Misaki decided to stay with Miki's gang and not return to her original dimension. There is still one mystery. Is Misaki the Miku of another dimension? BTW, Miku is the Miki's younger sister. Anyway, the story ended in a nice and sweet note. No more bad guys, you asked? Well, I don't think so, they are still gonna train to continue protecting the Earth from the invaders.

Story (Rating: 10/10)

The story is well-paced, well-done and has numerous light-hearted moments. It is actually quite good. I really like it. So 10 out of 10!

Art and Animation (Rating: 5/10)

The art and animation is kind of average. Not very good. So, won't give a very high mark.

Sound and Music (Rating: 8/10)

The music is kinda average. None of them that I really like. There is also one or two insert song if I am not mistaken.

Characters (Rating: 8/10)

The character is really quite likeable and really unique. Rarely that anime has so many characters in it. I love the friendship between the characters and the growth of the character in terms of strength and tenacity against the odds. Sadly, no full marks from me.

The Hoshimori class...

Enjoyment (Rating: 9/10)

I quite enjoy watching it. Watching the characters grow together and growing their friendship even stronger together is a really good way to watch this. Of course, fighting off the evil one is a good theme too. Umm...that's all I can say.
