10 Things that Anime Does During Winter (and also on Christmas!)

Hi, people. I would like to write this for fun. Since I had run out of things to write at this point, so here I would something here after I returned from my church's youth camp.

Isn't she cute?

I had to warn you here. This post included some parts of several animes. There is not a lot though BUT it's just a precaution here. Anyway, let's go!

1. Turning your friend into a dead snowman (literally).

Well, from Acchi Kocchi, we did see a scene where the group of friends are in involved in a snowball fight. Although Mayoi and Sakaki use some sort of cheat, Sakaki was eliminated in quite a pathetic way and Mayoi got turned into a dead snowman when Tsumiki uses her 'super Saiyan snow blast'. LOL! That is SOME way to celebrate Christmas?

Wow...Mayoi...RIP.

2. Scare the heck out of someone.

In Acchi Kocchi, (yes, Acchi Kocchi again), Mayoi wears a bear costume to scare people. Well, she failed to surprise Io, failed to even make Tsumiki faze, scared the heck out of Hime and had a collision course with Sakaki. She, together with Sakaki (he decided to join in), scared Kikue sensei and pulled her on a sledge all the way to the school.

Poor Hime...

3. Chopping an actual tree to be your Christmas tree

YES, you are reading it right. In Aikatsu, Ichigo decided to chop down an actual tree to cheer her schoolmate up when Ichigo found out that her parent might not be attending the school's Christmas festival. Yeah, cut the long story short, they did it. Wow...even I won't go that far for someone. Anyway, this crazy 'tradition' comes down to EVEN Akari gen. Akari does this Juri who also saw the scene of Ichigo cutting down the tree for her schoolmate. Akari proceeds to cut it down for Juri. Will this 'tradition goes on? I don't know. Anyway, let's move on.

Wow...

Akari doing the same thing as Ichigo...

Oh, Aikatsu Stars also had a tree cut down for Christmas although in a REALLY spectacular way. Although the method is spectacular, it is not possible. You will probably end up with a broken sword (or maybe a sword stuck to the tree) and a broken hand (or maybe just have a REALLY painful sensation on your hand). Don't imitate that, boys and girls!

Yume and her gang rising up the tree for the Christmas event.

4. Perform a Show on Christmas Day (and Hopefully it Snows)

This one...has occurred in multiple anime. It happened in Aikatsu because Luminas (from Aikatsu) hoped for a white Christmas, which is just literally just them wanting to see snow on Christmas. It also happened in Aikatsu Stars after their (Yume and her gang) performance. As for Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream, it's slightly different. Although they wanted a white Christmas, it was for someone, a kid who will be returning to Okinawa (the place never really snow) after the end of the year (if I'm not mistaken). Anyway, that's in a way kind of special, isn't it?

It's SNOWING!

Yep, it's a white Christmas, girls.

Your wish came true, Aira!

5. Throw a Christmas Party and Perform on Stage (and run back home, telling yourself that you're all by yourself)

This scene happened in Toradora. Well, technically Taiga is not the one throwing the party. Anyway, Taiga and Ami performed together and then Taiga took a taxi back home. Ami? Well, she was pissed off about Ryuji 'playing father' in his relationship with his gang (which included Taiga). In a way, it's kinda true BUT I'm not gonna discuss it here. Maybe next time. So, Taiga told herself that she is all alone by herself after she reaches home. What was the madness about? Anyway, that is exactly the kind of Christmas you wished for, isn't it? Anyway, let's move on.

Taiga...seriously? You were at the party just now.

6. Accidentally push your boyfriend into the river.

Well, I know they were running away to be with each other (in pretty bizarre circumstances). BUT, you can't ignore what happened in between. Taiga pushes Yuuji too hard during a heart-to-heart conversation, Taiga pushes Yuuji and down he goes. From the bridge into the river. A nice way to celebrate Christmas? I'm kidding here. Please don't do that. BTW, it's from Toradora.

How did you get down there?!

7. Have your existence erased (then contract yourself with your lover's enemy)

Well, it's not really Yuuji's fault for his existence running out. His contract with the Snake of the Festival is what tip people off. I'm not gonna put my argument here but Yuuji's action really is a unique one. Well, unless you are a Torch, having the device that replenishes your existence every midnight and has your existence pool that WILL NOT last beyond midnight, AND in the Shakugan no Shana universe (Really, what I mentioned can ONLY happen in Shana's universe), otherwise one word: IMPOSSIBLE. This is not exactly recommended as it could go REALLY WRONG. Yuuji join forces with the God of Creation (or the Snake of the Festival) because he wants to find ways to halt the unending battle with Flame Haze and the Crimson Denizens for Shana's wellbeing.

Yuuji...

8. Write a seriously beautiful song

In this case, they didn't exactly launch their song on Christmas. I'm talking about Love Live and Love Live Sunshine. Snow Halation is the BEST song among all of the Love Live franchise. Anyway, there are two quite spectacular songs were made during winter in both the Love Live and Love Live Sunshine universe. The songs are Snow Halation (my favourite) and Awaken the Power. If you have heard it, you will like it. Well, writing a new song is not unique BUT writing amazing songs, THAT is HARD.

Snow Halation!

Awaken the Power!

9. Go on a weird three-way date

There are a lot of weird dates in the anime world but during the winter in Oregairu world (well, it was no longer at that time in Oregairu), Hachiman goes on a trip with two girls who obviously has feelings for him, Yukino and Yui. It turned into Yui pushing Yukino to go for Hachiman and prompted some viewer (more like a certain viewer) to talk about the reasoning behind this whole mess. Whatever the psychology and reasoning behind this date, it shows that this show has a really DEEP meaning to it and Hachiman will definitely find it difficult to deal with the 'I let you have that person I'm in love with love triangle' weirdness. BTW, Oregairu is the short form for the long name of Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatteiru, which literally translates as My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected. I could talk about the madness and psychology behind the anime but it will take too long. Maybe next time.

OK...You will soon realize that you are on a weird 3-way date.

10. Fighting the dark (or evil) forces to save the world

Well, this is from Tales of Zetria the X and Shakugan no Shana. Yuuji and Shana actually fought the 'knight' who will host the Snake of the Festival before Yuuji disappears. As for Tales of Zestria the X, our MC, Sorey and his gang, together with some army decided to go the lands of the North to where the Lord of Calamity is. Although he didn't technically fight during Christmas or in the winter, it still fits the fact that Sorey will be fighting in the snow. So yeah, you can say that Shana will a much better choice for this category. Oh yeah, BTW, there is actually number 11 for this.

Fighting in the snow...

Fighting on Christmas eve. No snow though.

11. Seriously, celebrate Christmas like a normal person!

Nothing beats that, right?! Right? Aww, come on, REALLY? NO?! Hey, dude, remember that you are not in anime, OK? Wake up from your dream. Really. Anyway, it was fun to do this. Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!!! I hope to do a New Year post this year. Look forward to it, people! Anyway, before we end this, I would like to say that there numerous weird things that happen in Christmas and during winter (or just snowing) in anime BUT I take the most ridiculous ones to post it here. Anyway, hope to see you again! Have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh yeah!!!
