Hi, people! I have been planning to write something deeper regarding the movie Nanoha Detonation. I hope that Nanoha Vivid season 2 will be coming next year (at the very least but it could be much, much later) after this movie (since this series generates a lot of revenue, I think...NO, I'm sure of it!).
Anyway, I need to clarify something here. This movie is a DIRECT sequel from Nanoha Reflection so it's not suitable to watch it without watching Nanoha Reflection and the previous works (which are the anime series and the movie series) that depict the incident before the incident in these two movies occurs. Well, that is the minimum requirement for one to even comprehend the events happening in this movie. Anyway, let's start!!!

Just a bit more to say...
Well, I have done quite a number of deep dive. I started with
Busou Shoujo because I think the Japanese swordsmanship thing is interesting to dive into. Plus, there are people might wanna have a deeper understanding of the characters in terms of swordsmanship that they represent and a deeper understanding of the theme of the story. After that, I did one for
Shana and another for this movie's prequel,
Nanoha Detonation. Anyway, these two movies (Reflection and Detonation) also sparked a few other franchises including manga (but not Detonation manga...yet. It might be here soon). OK, with all of that said, let's start.

1. Finding the truth takes hard work.
A lot of people said that the truth will always prevail but few know that finding the truth requires hard work to be found and exposed. The truth won't prevail if nobody is there to find and seek for it. Same go for the truth behind the Iris incident (that what I would call it). Although they are given a piece of vital information from Yuri, it takes the trio that was summoned by Iris to recover the vital piece of data after being destroyed by Yuri (I think). In real life, only a few will just give an important piece of information that easily because it is dangerous most of the time. Anyway, back to the story. Even with that piece of information, it requires a lot of other searches regarding the incident as the data has a missing piece. Yes, it is done by others in the background and was revealed only when the real antagonist appears.

2. Misunderstanding can become very destructive.
The misunderstanding between Yuri and Iris start out with the professor, Phil Maxwell's death. With Iris didn't know that the professor is behind the massacre of the lab members, she decided to fight her till death. Obviously, Yuri wins and she proceeds to disappear (presumably sealed herself in the book) and Iris is somehow not dead and is stuck in a tablet-like item. This misunderstanding has caused Iris to trick Kyrie to execute her plan for revenge. This whole plan not only have brought destruction to the place where she executes her plan, but it has also put the people (regardless of whether they are involved in this misunderstanding) in harm's way. The movie didn't really show the aftermath on how they clean up the mess where the fight left, but I think it is not beautiful. Seeing destroyed items and injured people...nice? No, of course. I'm glad that this misunderstanding has its resolution but still, you cannot ignore the consequences of that.

3. Change for the better is hard but necessary.
Kyrie Florian...she is described by Iris as spoiled, indecisive, weak and cannot do anything without her. Wow...She decided to help Nanoha and her allies to stop the incident. She decided to stand up and fix her wrongs together with Nanoha. The change is hard for Kyrie but she decided to do so to correct her wrong.

4. Forgiveness is quite prevalent.
There is forgiveness everywhere...Kyrie forgives Iris for tricking her and Amitie forgives her sister, Kyrie for immobilising her to execute the plan are good examples of that. After the whole incident, I believe that Iris and Kyrie deserved forgiveness since they are repentant of the incident but I also believed that they still deserved punishment. Why? So that they won't do it again. I believe whatever that you do, there are consequences. As for the professor Phil Maxwell, he is never repentant, similar to the ultimate villain in Nanoha StrikerS. So, he, like that professor in Nanoha StrikerS (who is Jail Scaglietti), don't deserve any forgiveness.

5. The good turned evil.
The professor, Phil Maxwell...this guy is an enigma. The movie only talks about the project Revive and its abandonment due to suspicion by the agents that he is working on an illegal project. This project falling apart has become the spark for him to go into the massacre of the lab worker, tricking Yuri and devising evil plans. For what? Revenge? Did he turned evil before this or after? I dunno but this guy turned bad after this whole fiasco. He could have better handled it rather than turning himself into the dark side. Well, it's just me ranting, that's all. Let's move on.

6. ALL deeds have to pay the price, no matter good or bad.
Well, I might sound like I'm repeating myself here but I say this again: "I believe whatever that you do, there are consequences." This truth is quite obvious but so many people didn't realise it. Look at Nanoha, Fate and her fellow allies. Didn't they pay the price for fighting for Earth's peace and trying to stop the incident? The answer is obvious, yes! They have to put in the effort to resolve this incident. Many of them are injured because of this incident. Doing the right things requires one to pay the price and that's what kept many people away from doing the right thing. Well, it is obvious that people who did the whole thing (in this case, Iris, Kyrie and also Maxwell) have to pay their price for this incident that injured people and destroyed many things (and maybe killed someone). Maxwell went to jail for his crimes. Iris was 'home arrest' at TSAB headquarter for her crimes during the incident. I won't be listing all of them as it is as clear as daylight.

7. Dreams do come true.
In the end, the planet Eltoria has being restored to its former glory after the effort by Yuri, Iris and the Florian family. The movie also reveals that Kyrie wishes that Nanoha and her friends visit the newly restored Eltoria. This vision of Eltoria that has been forced to abandon by the government has been fulfilled by Yuri, Iris and the Florian family. Although this is a good and beautiful ending, because of this incident, they (and the people who are involved in this incident) paid a huge price for the rebuilding of the Eltoria. Worth it? I'm not too sure about that but their hard work on that planet after that incident is prevalent and shows that the work can be done with the right people and hard work.

Conclusion
Looks like it's the end of this post. I wanted to write more post but I was binge-watching anime in recent weeks. So, it's a little bit difficult to write another post. Sorry! Anyway, I enjoyed my time writing blog posts. I do hope that you have enjoyed reading too. I will get hold the screenshots as soon as it's possible to take them. Will update you guys.
