I feel like eating Chocolate now...Oh, that reminds me of something...

Hi, once again, people! I have talked about K-On previously. Anyway, this time, it's time to settle my "old scores" after taking about K-On. What is the next thing on my agenda? Well, it is...

Time to...wait, no! No, it is not about someone getting married, alright?

...KoiChoco! I have talked about it previously. Well, it is time. I should have rated it a long time ago but let's put my previous mistake aside and let's move on. Yes, I'm not too enthusiastic about it as it is actually pretty average when I think about it. You know what? Let's GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING:-

SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven't watched it and plan to watch it without anyone being the spoiler, please DON'T CONTINUE READING!!!

P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.

Introduction

The anime!

The series that I will talk about, Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, started as a Japanese Visual Novel, which I would say...it doesn't have the best review ever. Just look it up yourself. I have forgotten the link of the review that I have read online. The series is translated as Love, Election and Chocolate in English and is abbreviated in Japanese as Koichoco (恋チョコ). Anyway, it is available on PC and PSP. Wait a minute...it sounds I'm promoting or selling this game...OK, moving on.

The game...

Two manga adaptations were serialized in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Magazine and Dengeki Daioh. As for the animated series (or just anime), it is produced by AIC Build and directed by Tōru Kitahata aired between July and September 2012, with an additional episode released on the series' final Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume in March 2013. OK, I'm done with the brief intro! I didn't do much introduction to the series back then...so yeah...OK, let's move on to the main course.

Nom nom nom...

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 6/10)

The story is pretty interesting...but it goes into a darker side of things as the election exposes the dark side of politics in general. The flow of the story and the pacing of the story is pretty decent. It is relatively simple to understand the story. As for me, the story didn't give me much impression, to be honest. Yes, there are light-hearted moments but they are more like cringeworthy than giving a good laugh. I give it a 6 out of 10 is because of the story being slightly deeper than the usual school life.

The incident that started this story...

Art and Animation (Rating: 6/10)

As for this...the art of this anime is well-made and is consistent. The characters are pretty cute, I will admit. Well, at best, it is average.

That reaction...

Sound and Music (Rating: 7/10)

Probably one of the more redeeming features of this anime. There are numerous good music, especially the opening theme song. Wait...I think I like most of the opening theme song except for a few (including the shitty opening theme song of Rakudai Kishi).

From the opening sequence...

Characters (Rating: 8/10)

Development of character? Yeah, I agree that this aspect of it is one of the redeeming features of this anime. The main character, Ojima, has slowly but surely improved throughout the show. The development is also shown in the three more prominent characters, who are Sumiyoshi Chisato, Aomi Isuma and Shinonome Satsuki. As for the relatability of the characters to the audience, it is probably relatable in terms of the fact that we know that politics has a lot of dark sides to it, just like in real life.

Satsuki...getting a hit on Ojima

Enjoyment (Rating: 6/10)

Did I enjoy it? I am not too sure. I did enjoy the ridiculous and funny scenes but it never really gives me a deep impression. It's very unlikely that I would rewatch it but I did skim through the anime to give a less biased (but still biased) review on this anime.

Wow...what on earth is going on here?

Overall Rating: 6.6 (6.75)/10

Conclusion

I wanted to put up more screenshots but I'm lazy and also this anime didn't really give me a great impression (so yes, I'm biased). Plus, I need to clear anime watchlist backlog. Anyway, that's the end of this post. I'm still trying to settle the "old score" as soon as possible. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy reading it. I hope to have you browsing this blog once again. Goodbye, and God bless you!

A cute picture to end this post.
