Hi! It's been a while since I wrote anything on this blog. It took me so long to even produce the post on the Love Live Sunshine movie. Well, it was because of the many other stuff that I needed and wanna do. Also, because the last watched time was really quite a long while ago, it's quite tough to recall it unless I go and watch it, which is it turns out is really tough to motivate me to do so. With all the effort that I put in for that post, I'm sad that it hasn't gotten as many views as I would like.
Remember these girls?
Anyway, back to the topic. When was the last time I talked about anisong on this blog? Oh, it was back on Christmas Day! It wasn't that long ago. Ahem, let's go back to the topic for real. I got the idea for this post a few days ago when I was listening to songs on my phone in my car. This post is about the insert song of Hanayamata, Kodoku Signal. So, yeah, let's not waste and go ahead!
WARNING:-
Although this post is just me talking about a certain anime song, there might be SPOILERS from the anime. If you are planning to watch the anime without any spoilers, you can either continue to read or move on.
P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it, you HAVE been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you insist on continuing to read this post.
Introduction
The album
The insert song, Kodoku Signal (in Japanese, コドクシグナル) or in English, Solitude Signal was initially introduced in the 1st episode of Hanayamata when Naru was watching Yaya's band, Need Cool Quality practising. Oh? I think I already introduced the performer for this song indirectly there. Yes, it was performed by Need Cool Quality. The song has its lyrics written by Aki Hata and was composed and arranged by Keiichi Hirokawa (MONACA). The band even has its own single, which includes the song called Where the Thunder, Rain, and Tears Go ( in Japanese, THUNDER, RAIN, 涙の行方). Anyway, enjoy the song below.
I think it’s because you're willing to listen to my stories,
That the hidden pain in me suddenly overflows.
"No love [means] no life" – though you whisper such things,
I can't understand you!
I'm just afraid that you would hate me
Because I realize that I've always been alone.
I had to tell myself that
There's no place for me in this world
For that "hated" me,
Otherwise, I will break down.
I can't even envision nice, convenient dreams –
Because my surroundings are always so cold.
That's why I accepted them as my norm
But why are you so kind to me?
"No dream [means] no life" – That might be meaningless though:
I don't understand. Do you?
Maybe I'm not the kind of person worthy of being loved
So let me engrave the word "solitude" as my insignia.
If a person who is loved is supposed to climb the stairs of adulthood,
Then I'd say that for me, it's impossible – I can't climb them
The loneliness — fills my heart until the brink.
Your smile — is dazzlingly bright
Maybe I'm not the kind of person worthy of being loved
So let me engrave the word "solitude" as my insignia.
There's no way I can be worthy of being loved... right?
That's why...
I'm just afraid that you would hate me
Because I realize that I've always been alone
There's no place for me in this world
For that "hated" me,
Otherwise, I will break down.
Yaya tsundere drumming. xD
Note: I got it from the Hanayamata Wiki but I did make some tweaks according to my understanding of the lyrics.

Yaya panic drumming. xD
Note: I used this Bilibili video as a reference but only for the rough ideas to express my interpretation of the song.
Commentary
That moment...
Commentary...it's quite tough to say much about it other than it's Yaya's band song in the anime. The song is first introduced to us when Yaya show Naru's band and their song. It hit me so hard because of the lyrics and because of who I am. The song shows the weakness in so many of us. So many of us feel alone and lonely and just want someone who would share in their pain and joy. The song not only fits decently to the anime but also hits way too close to home. It resonates so well with me that I really loved this song when I first heard it. That's all I could say. Moving on...
Tami, you so cute!!!
Oh, no, Yaya, why you crying? sniff...
Blushing Machi is so cute!
Hana is crying too...dang!
Conclusion
As we have reached the end of this post, I wanna say Happy Chinese New Year to all! It's also called the Lunar New Year. Anyway, I didn't really expect to publish this on the Chinese New Year. This idea just came to me not too long ago. One more thing, this song's translation is quite simple. I tried my best to present as close my interpretation of the lyrics as possible. Anyway, that's the end. I hope that you enjoy reading and browsing this blog. Goodbye, and God bless you!
Good day, everybody. How is life? It had been a long time since I found the time and motivation to write it. I was too caught up with gaming and working. No guarantee that I won't have a long gap in between blog posts, just like the time between the post on AiScream and the post on BokuYaba anime . Regarding that AiScream post, it was a fun dive into how a light-hearted song using the "ice-cream" pun became a viral hit and captured the hearts of fans, even though I had a hard time completing it due to my day job's workload and trying too hard to integrate multiple AI chat suggestions. As for that Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (BokuYaba) post back in May, it was once my really huge obsession. Remember this moment? Oops, it looks like that first paragraph might be a bit too long. Umm....whatever. It's fine, I guess. Anyway, this time, I will continue from that BokuYaba post that I published back in May to talk about a song that still gives me an emotional vibe: B...
Hi, nice to meet you again. How are you? With that one job that has been like that one recurring theme from last year finally settled this year, I am feeling really perked up. My publishing drought is resolved, I think, hopefully. I never thought that I could publish blog posts for Love Live Superstar season 2 and 3 , Black Bullet opening theme song , my story on how I started getting anime merch , and Chuunibyou season 1's opening theme song . Well, that is quite a lot in March. Don't expect me to do that every month, though. Well, you see that when I could only come out with this weekly post in between this post and the posts that I published last March. That moment...when he confesses... Anyway, back to the topic. After watching it, I have been thinking about this anime for quite a while. It really made me wanna write about the anime's second season opening theme song. I decided against it because I haven't talked about the anime itself. SO...time for Boku no Kokor...
