Time for more slime action!!!!! Let's go!!!

Hi once again. It's time to write more blog posts after talking about Rikei season 2 and loli Shigure Ui loli song. This time, it is another anime that I have put aside for way too long for an anime that I should've talked about earlier. That anime is the second season of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken a.k.a. TenSura.

Time for it!

TenSura is an anime that I talked about back in 2019 and season 2 was aired back in 2021. But, because of so many issues in terms of getting motivated to write blog posts and having less time than I used to have due to increasing work and more games at hand. As I had dug myself into this pit in the previous post, it's time to get it going!

WARNING:-

SPOILER ALERT! This post is very likely to contain spoilers for this anime. So...if you are planning to watch the anime without any spoilers, you can either continue to read this post or move on and watch the anime.

P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.

Introduction

Remember this?

I introduced this series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Japanese: 転生したらスライムだった件) back in 2019. Also, I did mention the release of season 2 briefly. It was released back in 2021, with two parts, airing from January to September 2021. Today, we are gonna combine the two parts and talk about them. Anyway...

Season 2

Another cover for season 2

There is even an anime adaptation of the second spin-off manga, The Slime Diaries aired from April to June 2021. Also, an anime film was released in November 2022. There is even a three-episode original net animation spin-off titled Coleus no Yume, which is set to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2023. Oh, there is even a third season that is set to premiere in the second quarter of 2024. There is just so much information for new adaptations and spin-offs. Time for me to move on then.

Plot

Rimuru returning

The story starts with Rimuru returning to his home country after helping the kids in their studies and saving their lives because of their unique condition. Everything looked normal and peaceful until we saw the evil plan of Clayman and the plan of two nations trying to gang up on Rimuru's kingdom. Well, some of the incidents back in the previous season did have his hand all over the place.

Hinata vs Rimuru

He was suddenly attacked by a really powerful enemy, Sakaguchi Hinata on his way back to his kingdom after a meeting. With him being caught up in a huge fight, in the capital city of his kingdom, people from the Kingdom of Falmutha pick up a big fight in the town and then a war, resulting in the death of Shion and a few other fighters.

Mjurran the spy

How the fuck did it happen? Well, the Kingdom of Falmuth with Clayman fanning the flames by placing a spy named Mjurran forcing the people of Tempest to fend for themselves by them erecting the barriers to prevent from using magic and escaping. Wow...Well, Rimuru did safely escape and return to his nation. With him getting information about the whole incident, he decided to find ways to revive his comrades and avenge their deaths.

Meeting after the incident

What is his plan? He plans to kill the soldier of the kingdom of Falmuth to evolve into the Demon King class to facilitate the revival ritual. There are more details to it but I would rather have you read the light novel or watch the anime for yourselves. Anyway, the plan is executed with great success, crushing the kingdom of Falmuth and conducting the revival ritual with the help of the evolved Great Sage, Raphael.

Meeting after the war

After he wakes up from his slumber due to the transformation, the Kingdom of Eurazania's army has been wiped out by Rimuru. Carrion is defeated by Milim with assistance from the Demon Lord Frey. Besides that, he also learns of Clayman's possible involvement in Milim and Frey's actions. He also realised that the demon he summoned before he went into a slumber had officially become his subordinate under the name "Diablo". Later, he fulfils his promise to Veldora by releasing his seal and giving him a new body when the seal is broken.

Walpurgis start!!!

With the basic things sorted out, he decided to plan to strike back against Clayman, with the support of his allies. While his forces went to defend his weakened partner, the Kingdom of Eurazania, he attended the meeting of the Demon Lords, Walpurgis. That's where the intense fight between Clayman and Rimuru starts.

The end of Walpurgis

To cut a long story short, all his so-called allies decided to turn back against him and finally defeated him. With Carrion and Frey deciding to be Milim's subordinate instead of being Demon Lord and the death of Clayman, Rimuru is given the responsibility for naming the Demon Lord council, which he named Octagram. With that, I guess, it's a happily ever after.

What a way to end this season...

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 10/10)

The story is unlike its first season, the whole story revolves around a villain group trying to wreak havoc and Rimuru happens to be in the way. Although the story is not as comfy as the previous season, it has brought us the excitement of the adventure of a person reincarnated into a new world as a slime. Just like the previous season, the story flows and paces pretty well and is relatively easy to understand.

Intense meeting time

Art and Animation (Rating: 9/10)

Just like the previous season, both the art and animation are consistently good throughout the anime's run. There's not much to complain.

Time for revenge

Sound and Music (Rating: 9/10)

Mostly the same old same. I do not mean it in a bad way. Well, the only one that I really like is the OP song for the second half. Great stuff. Other than that, nothing to complain.

Time to get serious

Characters (Rating: 9/10)

The character development is mostly centred around the incident in Tempest that forced Rimuru's hand to become the Demon Lord. The slime is still OP as usual but the whole incident gives us to connect with them through the emotions and agony invoked by the tragedy of the war between Tempest and Falmuth and some other forces in the dark.

Time for the revival ritual

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

I did have a bit of a hard time chasing after each episode, if I'm not mistaken but I think it's probably because of the COVID-19 lockdown fatigue. Man, those lockdowns are so damaging psychologically. Anyway, the story's ups and downs are well done. Great story.

LMAO! This part. xD

Overall Rating: 9.4 (9.25)/10

Conclusion

Well, that's the end. Glad that you read until the end. Anyway, with my draft stash starting to run empty, I have looked into what I have and added them to my draft. With a busy schedule, I have a bit of a hard time publishing new blog posts. Well, I will try my best to publish more consistently. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy reading and browsing this blog. Goodbye, and God bless you!

Milim as chill as ever
