What are the similarities between cute girls and fruit tarts? They are all sweet!!!!

Hi, people. How is life? For me, it has been a busy month. Despite that, I successfully published two blog posts about anisong (short for anime song). They are Hello Hello and Chance! & Revenge! They did pretty decently in terms of viewership, I say. The blog's viewership has dropped drastically from the height of March 2022. Well, I expected that since I'm slowly running out of ideas and drive.

UOOOOH!!!! いただきます!!!

Anyway, this time, it will be about anime instead of anisong. I could do more anisong but I decided against that. So...this blog post will be about anime. It is...Ochikobore Fruit Tart!!!! Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING:-

SPOILER ALERT! This post is very likely to contain spoilers for this anime. So...if you are planning to watch the anime without any spoilers, you can either continue to read this post or move on and watch the anime.

P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.

Introduction

The anime

The series, Ochikobore Fruit Tart (おちこぼれフルーツタルト) or in English, Dropout Idol Fruit Tart started as a Japanese four-panel manga series by Hamayumiba Sou. It was serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat in May 2015 and currently has been collected in six tankoubon volumes. Later, it was adapted into an anime television series adaptation by Feel, which aired from October to December 2020. Well, it's mainly a copypasta from Wikipedia. It's not that I've a lot to introduce regarding this series. Anyway, let's move on.

The manga

Plot

Sakura Ino incoming...

Ino on the way to her new living place

The story starts with a certain girl from the Okayama Prefecture, Sakura Ino, went to Tokyo to realise her dream of becoming an idol. Once she arrives, she moves into a dormitory called Mouse House where she meets Roko Sekino, a former child actor, Hayu Nukui, a musician, and Nina Maehara, a model. When their manager, Hoho Kajino, informs them that Mouse House has been threatened to be demolished, the girls quickly form a new idol group called Fruit Tart to save their home.

Discussion time!

Yeah, that's it. The anime started so straightforward that I couldn't really further elaborate. Well, I could talk more about that copypasta from Wikipedia. Sadly, they are just for the laughs and not exactly worth me to further elaborating on. So, yeah, anyway, the girls go on a journey to fame and money and also, saving their home, like for real. Otherwise, they will be kicked out of the company and out of the place that they are currently living in for not bringing in enough money for the company. Well, that's it. Moving on...

Roko and Nua...in a cage? O.O

Anime Rating

Story (Rating: 6/10)

The story is mostly those girls doing idol stuff and some silly shit stuff along the way to retain their lives in the entertainment industry. They met new people and that's it. Simple and clear cut. Nothing crazy. Simple plot, simple flow, simple pacing, nothing worth much of a mention.

Hayu!

Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)

CUTE GIRLS! Good!!! At least 8 out of 10 points. For me, nothing much noteworthy about the animations other than the girls are drawn really cutely. xD

Good food!

Hayu and Ino in class...

Sound and Music (Rating: 7/10)

Cute opening theme song and cute ending theme song for a cute anime...they suit each other really well. As for the songs themselves? Well, they are decent and lively. Oh, the insert song? Decent but nothing much to talk about. BGM? Good. Anyway, NEXT!!!

Cute girls!!!

Characters (Rating: 8/10)

For me, cute girls and cute lolis always get a pass. Oh, why no strikethrough? Well, because fuck this! Time to let it out!!! The character development...well, just minimal and just enough to make sure that the audience feels that they made progress and at the same time, not changing the cute interaction between the different characters. There isn't any one main character. Well, I guess you could say that the whole of Fruit Tart is the main character of this show.

This moment...LOL!

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

Cute girls = enjoyment for me. I like this anime and the girls. Period. xD

OOOOHHHHH!!!! I love randoseru and sukumizu!!!

Overall Rating: 7.8 (7.25)/10
