Hi! Good day, people. How is life? It has become harsher in recent times as I'm holding more and more responsibilities. Anyway, I hope that my increasingly burdensome life will be something that I can handle.

Anyway, back to the topic. I managed to publish FOUR posts before the year 2022 ends, which is nice! They were about Non Non Biyori, hem from Akebi-chan, One Room and my top 10 anime opening song of the year 2022. After the first post of the year 2023 (which is about Love Live Nijigasaki season 2), this time, I'm gonna talk about the anime Slow Loop! Well, you have seen it through the title, isn't it? So, let's go!!!!!!!

Slow Loop the anime

Slow Loop (in Japanese, スローループ)...this anime is adapted from a manga of the same name by Maiko Uchino. It is serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine, Manga Time Kirara Forward since September 2018. The anime television series adaptation is done by Connect and was aired from January to March 2022. There's nothing much I could say. Moving on...

Hiyori meeting Koharu

The story starts off with a girl name Minagi Hiyori who loves fishing. While she was fishing, she met a girl named Minagi Koharu who went over to jump into the sea in a school swimsuit. Hiyori stopped her by using her fishing rod. That's how they get to know each other. What a weird way to get to know each other for the first time.

Ah...hi, I guess?

Later, they found out their single parents got married to each other and they become siblings. Oh...that reminds me of a certain anime that I couldn't bear to watch...AHEM! Anyway, it turns out that Hiyori doesn't have a father as he died three years prior to the events of the series. Why did he die? Well, not mentioned at all other than it is hinted that he stayed in the hospital. As for Koharu, her biological mother and brother died in an accident when she was young. Sad.

Ah. Koi snapped.

AHEM! Anyway, Hiyori's mother got married to Koharu's father, making Hiyori and Koharu stepsiblings. From then onwards, the story surrounding the two girls, Hiyori and Koharu and their fishing journey begin! Before we go, I need to talk about an interesting female character, Koi. Her father almost names her after the koi fish (鯉) but her mother changed it to the kanji which means love (恋). She is Hiyori's childhood friend. Koi's father runs a fishing supplies store and has a really serious obsession with fishing until the point where he only arrives at the hospital after Koi's birth. What the fuck...AHEM! Time to move on.

Story (Rating: 9/10)

The story is pretty chill and mostly focused on Hiyori and Koharu's relationship and fishing. Cute, really cute. The story pacing and flow are really good for a nice, slow and cute anime.

Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)

The characters and their expression are pretty well-drawn and consistent. The art of the anime is really good too. Nothing much to complain about, really.

Sound and Music (Rating: 9/10)

Nice, chill and cute theme songs and also good background music. What more could I say? Good stuff.

Cute girls? OH YEAH!!!!!!! AHEM! Also, the background of the characters is not too heavy for a "cute girls doing cute things" anime. The growth of the relationship between Hiyori and Koharu is really nice to watch but the rekindling of Koi and Hiyori's relationship journey is also nice to watch as they break the ice regarding the past about Hiyori's dad passing. It is pretty unique, I think. There are also other different relationships in the anime but not prominent as the relationship of the three main characters, Koi, Koharu and Hiyori.

Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)

Nice, cute and really soothing. What more could I ask about this anime? Nothing more. I like it.
