Hi! Welcome! How are you? Anyway, I'm starting to write to blog posts again. I have not written much last month. I'm trying to make up this month. That's why I have published the
update post for Nanoha Detonation and the recent
Saekano anime review.

Remember her? |
Anyway, I'm revisiting Nanoha season 1 to 3 as I didn't give rating points for them yet. I wanted to do season 3 separately but after giving some thought to it, I felt that it was unnecessary so here we are. Nanoha!!!! It's time!!! Let's GO!!!!!
WARNING:-
SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven't watched it and plan to watch it without anyone being the spoiler, please DON'T CONTINUE READING!!!
P.S. If you want to be spoiled, well, go ahead and read it. You HAD been warned. Don't blame me for being spoiled if you INSIST on continuing to read this post.
Introduction
I did give the background for the Nanoha series in my first post on this series. I'm not gonna repeat myself here. If you want more details, it's much better to read the Wikipedia page for it AND do your own research. Wikipedia is NOT the holy grail of information but a tool that makes information easier to access. Anyway, I will promote once again
the post about Nanoha first two seasons and
the post about Nanoha StrikerS. So now, well, well, the time for it is here. Brace yourselves.

It's time...brace yourselves |
Anime Rating
Nanoha (Season 1)
Story (Rating: 10/10)
The story centres around Nanoha's journey to becoming an excellent magic user and resolving the Jewel Seed case in order to protect her home planet from harm. It's a good theme and plotline for the anime. As for the flow and the pacing of the story, they are pretty decent, giving enough time for plot and character development. And also, the story is relatively easy to understand.

Nanoha first time turning into a magical girl |
Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)
Boom!!! Anyway, the art and animation of this anime can't be compared to arts and animation of today but they are pretty good, to be honest. They are pretty consistent and quite good. The movie does make an improvement in this area but the movie is not our focus here, isn't it?
|
Woah...what a blast. |
Sound and Music (Rating: 7/10)
The background music is decent. I like the opening theme song very much and also the ending song is pretty decent too. So yeah, that's all. Anyway, the opening theme song was my jam for quite a number of times. I still like it even until today.
|
The shadow...Oh, BTW, this scene is from the opening sequence. |
Characters (Rating: 10/10)
Characters...wow, there is a lot to talk about. The story is focused on Nanoha's character development and skill improvement most of the time (obviously) but the character, Fate's development cannot be underestimated too. She started to slowly and surely move towards to become Nanoha's friend. A lot of things between them...from enemies to friends.
Just beat the shit out of your enemies and they will be your friends! OK, that's just wrong and bad joke. Time to retract my statement. Anyway, we can't ignore the other side character too. They did grow and contribute like the "ferret" that Nanoha found, Yuno. Anyway, Nanoha crying during the final episode of this season is really just...
sniff...touching.
|
Nanoha crying in Fate's arms...No...dun cry... |
Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)
I enjoy the journey of Nanoha and Fate (where the Nanoha x Fate thing started). The growth of the characters, the funny and awkward moment, heart-crushing moments and also the touching moments are ALL good stuff there. I will watch again if I have time.

The awkward giant cat moment... |
Overall Rating: 9 (8.75)/10
Nanoha A's (Season 2)
Story (Rating: 10/10)
The story continues on from the Jewel Seed incident in Nanoha season 1. The story centres around the sad story of a corrupted tome that binds the owner of the tome. The theme is pretty similar to the previous season but the antagonist is much tamer than Fate's antagonism. The new characters are a good addition to the story's plot. And also, there are a few dramas in the saga of the ever incarnating, never-dying tome (Book of Darkness). Well, for the flow and the pacing of the story, they are as good as similar to the previous season. Just like the previous season, the story is relatively easy to understand.
|
The dark magical circle...poor tome |
Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)
Arts and animation? This season's arts and animation are pretty much very similar to the previous season. They are pretty consistent and quite good, just like the previous season. Just like the previous season, this season also had a movie that does make an improvement in this area. And again, the movie is not our focus here, isn't it?
|
BOOM! Good animation. |
Sound and Music (Rating: 7/10)
Same thing. There is nothing much I can say. I like the OP song more than the ED song. The opening theme song is pretty good. It's sung by Mizuki Nana!!!! Anyway, the background music is pretty decent too and also well-placed.
|
Nanoha x Fate brewing...I guess. |
Characters (Rating: 10/10)
This season of Nanoha has two MC, Nanoha and Fate, which are the focus of the character development. The character, Hayate is not really much developed but she is essential to the tome incident as she is the owner of the tome. The development of character is mostly focused on becoming stronger to able to protect their loved ones. Anyway, there are bittersweet and good moments to behold.
|
That moment...
|
Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)
Pretty much a similar comment to the previous season regarding Nanoha A's. Good, had multiple funny and awkward moment, heart-crushing moments and also the touching moments are ALL good stuff there. I will watch again if I have time.

Oh, lucky Chrono... |

Nanoha StrikerS (Season 3)
Story (Rating: 9/10)
Ooh...Nanoha StrikerS...this one is a little more controversial. The gap between the previous season and this season is a REALLY HUGE time gap. Anyway, the story centres around training new recruit to the Bureau and also resolving a case that span throughout the entire season. The case also involves nasty and dirty underground politics. Wow...that's intense. I agree with
this WordPress blogger regarding Nanoha StrikerS that it has excellent action, reasonably good pacing, and some very easily relatable characters with a dramatic back story. So yeah, the plot is decent, the flow and pacing are good and the story is quite easy to understand despite having politics being involved in this story, so why the controversy? Well, it's because it's not all about Nanoha, Fate and Hayate anymore and also it has moved into a more physical fight rather than more magical fights, which diverged from the previous two seasons. This is a similar situation with Aikatsu's second-half part regarding the switch in MC, from Ichigo to Akari. It has put off a lot of fans because they don't like Akari. Well, people are not gonna be receptive to changes that they don't really like, isn't it?

Those drones again... |
Art and Animation (Rating: 8/10)
The art and animation are quite similar to the previous season but again, I say that it is pretty good and well-executed. They are consistent, just like the previous two seasons. There is nothing more I could say, to be honest.
|
A nice magic trail... |
Sound and Music (Rating: 6/10)
The background music is well-placed and good. As for the opening theme songs, there are two of them. I like the first one better. The second one feels similar to Dog Days third season's opening theme song. It feels like they never reach the true climax of the song...EVER. As for the ending theme songs, they are ok but they are just not my cup of tea.
|
The badge... |
Characters (Rating: 10/10)
Character...the character developments are mostly focused on the trainees of Nanoha and hardly on Nanoha and Fate. Well, that's why the fans are put off with Nanoha StrikerS, just like how I ALWAYS disagree that Vivid Strike is NOT Nanoha Vivid season 2 (see,
this stupid Reddit answer.) and Hidan no Aria AA is NOT Hidan no Aira season 2. And also, I never really like Hidan no Aria AA because it just doesn't feel the same. Anyway, back to the topic. So, yeah, I understand them. The politics in the story are so relatable to us because we know that politics never look as it seems on the surface, just like in the Bureau of the Nanoha-verse.

CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Enjoyment (Rating: 10/10)
Did I enjoy it? Yes, I did. The mystery of the case pulls me all the way until the end of the case. I know that Nanoha and Fate are not the biggest focus of this story BUT the trainees are trained by Nanoha mostly. So, in a way, Nanoha is still the focus but in a different manner. Anyway, I will rewatch it if I have more time.

Oh...smirks... |
Overall Rating: 8.6 (8.25)/10
Conclusion
Anyway, the PV and the screenshots for the three seasons can be found in my two blog post (in which I have embedded the links in the Introduction section. I'm trying to write more this month so I will try to make time for it whenever possible. Well, that's the end of this post. I hope that you enjoy reading it. I hope to have you browsing on this blog again. Goodbye, and God bless you!
